The Council of the Medical and Health Sciences Students’ Research Society is announcing a call for applications for students of the Faculty of General Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy to support active participation in scientific conferences in the field of medical and health sciences. Applications are invited for conferences to be held in Europe between 1st November 2026 and 30th April 2027, with an oral presentation or poster in which the applicant is the first and presenting author. The applicant must have a previous oral presentation at a local Students’ Research Society conference.
The assessment of the applications will be based on presentations at local and national SRS conferences, SRS research essays, and in extenso publications. Preference will be given to students who have had SRS research essays accepted, who have received awards at the local or national SRS conferences, as well as those applying to participate in conferences held in Hungary.
Each student is eligible for support for a maximum of one conference participation during one academic year.
Winners will receive financial support, which can be used for the following:
• registration fee
• poster printing (max. HUF 10,000)
• accommodation costs: domestic travel: max. HUF 30,000 gross/person/night
travel abroad: max. EUR 150 gross/person/night
• travel expenses (train)
The grant is not necessarily comprehensive, the maximum possible amount per student is HUF 150,000.
Applications can be submitted using the application form below, which must be completed and sent in digital form. In addition to the MS Word .docx format, please also submit a signed and scanned .pdf file with the same content as the editable version!
Applications should be submitted to electronically to admin.tdk@med.unideb.hu, until 12th October 2026 11:00 (CET). Please write "Conference grant application 2026/2027 I." in the subject line!
Applicants agree to:
1. include the following in their abstract (or, if this is not possible, in their presentation or poster): "Sponsor: University of Debrecen Faculty of Medicine". Failure to do so will result in the costs not being reimbursed!
2. coordinate the accounting requirements BEFORE making any arrangements related to travel, accommodation, registration, or poster printing.
3. In case of cancellation of conference participation, the full amount of the grant awarded to them shall be refunded.
Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be considered valid.
After the evaluation, the winners will be notified by e-mail regarding further steps.
